Bear Grylls and "Anti-Fanfictionism"

I have been reading a long time, I haven’t read as much as I normally do because I have more productive things to do with my time. I only seem to read seasonally, during winter and autumn. I have more of an interest in film than i do in literature. Although you can read books during power cuts. I believe recently, paper books have been murdered, sliced into multiple pieces and scattered across the globe by the kindle.

Recently I have been reading Bear Grylls' autobiography “Facing Up” entailing his journey to the top of Everest, therefore becoming the youngest person, at the time, to climb the world’s tallest mountain. Although I’m not normally a fan of biographical novels, so far this has been a good read. I have also begun to read a book entitled “Fever Crumb”.
As far as I’m concerned, people who don’t read books, don’t because they read at a pace of 1 word every couple of seconds, listening to them is like trying to disarm a bear trap with my face. But, reading has a dark side, the hordes of illiterate, uninspired fools, who clutter the interwebs with FanFiction *shudder*.  Unfortunately, there is FanFiction for anything including; my little pony, twilight and worst of all *Whispering* One direction...
